We created Vitals Check for children 1 year old and older

Vitals Check is a simple way that parents can get real-time vital sign measurements using just a smartphone. Our advanced AI technology analyzes:

  • Pulse/heart rate
  • SpO2/blood Oxygen saturation levels

How Vitals Check Works

Simply place your child’s finger over the phone camera and light. Vitals Check will get real-time readings of essential vital signs that meet clinical standards, without the need for external devices!

When children are sick, they can have multiple symptoms and presentations, making it difficult for parents to get answers. Vitals Check can reassure you when everything is within range, and alert you to seek medical attention when things are not. Parents can also refine results by providing detailed information to our pediatric chatbot, LIA. It’s just like talking to a pediatric triage nurse.

Assess and monitor toddler vital signs and fever symptoms

Vitals signs readings provide valuable insight into a child’s overall health and become increasingly important when a child is sick to help rule in or rule out potential diagnosis.

This tool is perfect for a quick assessment before a doctor’s visit, after a dose of fever-reducer, or whenever you notice your little one seems unusually lethargic or flushed.

Detect vital risks by tracking physiological patterns instantly

We recommend using Vitals Check as soon as symptoms like lethargy, flushing, or rapid breathing appear. While you can log vitals at any time, we suggest checking morning and night to establish a baseline and monitor the fever dip common in viral infections. Monitoring trends beyond the first 24 hours of a fever is vital, as a child’s heart and respiratory rates provide the earliest signals of whether an illness is stabilizing or requiring clinical intervention.

Get personalized guidance based on your child’s specific needs

Depending on the trend of the recorded measurements and the symptoms you’ve logged, Vitals Check may recommend immediate at-home comfort measures—such as age-appropriate hydration strategies or cooling techniques for a fever— and/or prompt you to consult your pediatrician for a more detailed clinical evaluation.

Decide what to do next, as recommended by qualified health professionals

Sometimes, a sick child needs rest, rather than a long wait in the emergency room. Parents can use the information provided by Vitals Check to decide whether to consult a doctor.

Track your child’s health progress with simple monitoring

Vitals Check keeps a log of all previous readings, including time and date, to help track trends and allow easy sharing of information with health care professionals. It also includes a Medication Tracker so you can easily log and schedule doses if needed.

LAM Vitals Check App Features

  • Personalized guidance
  • Recommended actions

Quick vitals assessments for children and teens

We created Vitals Check for all children above the age of 1, including teens. Vitals Check should be performed whenever your child is feeling unwell; vital signs can help provide insights into determining the root cause. You can also use Vitals Check weekly, even when your child is well, to view trends, create a baseline, and detect any variations from the norm.

Pulse/Heart Rate

An elevated heart rate is often the body’s earliest internal signal of physical stress, such as dehydration, high fever, or respiratory distress, even before more obvious symptoms appear.

SpO2/Blood Oxygen Saturation Levels

Measuring SpO2 provides an immediate, objective reading of how effectively a child’s heart and lungs are delivering oxygen to the rest of the body, which is the most reliable way to detect respiratory distress before a child’s skin color or energy levels noticeably change.

Respiratory Rate/Breathing

Measuring the respiratory rate is the most sensitive indicator of a child’s lung health, as an increased number of breaths per minute is often the body’s first compensatory response to localized inflammation, airway narrowing, or a developing infection like pneumonia.

Temperature/Fever Readings

Tracking temperature is the most direct way to monitor the body’s active immune response, as a fever’s climb or break provides essential data on whether an infection is intensifying or if at-home treatments like hydration and fever-reducers are successfully stabilizing your child.
